sony-walkman s544For years, the Walkman from Sony was the hottest music player. I owned a Sony Walkman. It had an OK stereo radio and a pretty good tape deck. The Walkman from Sony was the top-of-the-line back in the early 80s and Sony is still in the market of making high quality products like the new Sony S-544 8 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player

Of course, nowadays it’s purportedly all about the iPod. Pretty soon that will all change. Sony’s new Walkman is now in the market. Sony has dropped the tape deck, naturally, but it kept the FM radio tuner and several other terrific features.
As I previously stated, the new Walkman nevertheless has the FM radio tuner, but one thing that’s been added is the built-in stereo speakers. The added stereo speakers make it so uncomplicated to share your music, and also you don’t need to have your head set connected all the time. This is also terrific for those who choose not always wearing ear plugs.sony-walkman-s544
With my first Walkman, all those years ago, it was great – I could really record songs from the radio straight to the tape player. And as expected, Sony put this technology in to its new Walkman, allowing people to record not simply radio broadcasts, but you can also record business conferences or anything else you desire.

The screen itself is a 2.4 inch screen, which is actually bright and very easy to look at when watching videos. What’s great, the Sony S-544 also lets you view different video formats. This is convenient and saves all that searching for file format converters.

And still another fantastic feature is the fact that the Sony S-544 8 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player features a built-in alarm. This is fantastic if you’re out somewhere and you would like to snatch a 30-minute nap without sleeping the day away. The Sony S-544 8 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player even has a sleep timer. Now you can listen as you fall asleep at night, and the device will turn itself off.

This unit allows you to play it full time, without having to charge it again, for almost two whole days (42 hours or so). Moreover, you can play more or less 6 1/2 hrs of video without recharging. That’s a lot of entertainment time.

Also, the Sony S-544 8 GB Walkman Video MP3 Player comes in a variety of colors including black, pink, red and violet. The Sony S-544 palyers also come in either 8GB or 16 GB models, depending on what you are looking for. And the fact that the 8GB model can be bought for just $84. This makes it a good option considering the iPod nano 8 GB sells for approximately $200.

In any event, if you’re looking to save money but still get a top of the line MP3 player, the Sony S-544 Walkman could be exactly what you’re looking for.
